Summary - The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring 2001
In this chapter of the trilogy, the young and timid Hobbit, Frodo Baggins inherits a ring. Far from being a simple widgets, this is the one ring, an instrument of power absolute allowing Sauron, the Dark Lord, reign over Middle-Earth and reduce enslaved its peoples. Unless Frodo, assisted by a company made up of Hobbits, men, a magician, a dwarf and an Elf may be able to take away the ring through Middle-Earth to the Crevasse of doom, place where it was forged, and destroy it forever. Such journey means venturing very far in Mordor, the land of the Lord of darkness, where gathered his army of evil orcs… The company must not only fight the outside forces of evil but also internal dissension and the corrupting influence exercised by the ring itself. The outcome of the upcoming story is linked to the fate of the company.
And so, finally, in 2001, one of the most controversial works of the English writer and Oxford University professor John Ronald Tolkien came to the world screen. After more than half a century after the publication. It is strange that for so long, no veteran director dared to remove artistic picture (animation does not count) for one of the most widely read and books published in the world literature. Whether the film has not reached such heights earlier in the special effects, or exciting, but a tight enough, the plot was difficult for the project, but the fact remains – many fans of Tolkien had not lived a happy moment.
In 178 minutes, the film director has managed to include almost everything. So, the audience is not familiar with the book, would understand perfectly, watching movies. The picture does not suffer from the lengthy story. Events begin to grow rapidly in the first third of the film, taking us to the ancient, beautiful and scary at the same time the world of Middle-earth. Smoothly from the stories ring director abruptly plunges the viewer into the next cycle of events: find the ring, the return of Sauron dark, familiarity with the Fellowship of the Ring, the decision to destroy the ring in the crevice of Mount Doom of Mordor, the beginning of a difficult journey of nine brave souls and their first loss…
And all this with beautiful music, colorful, detailed costumes and simply stunning special effects, brilliant performances by the cast and impeccable camerawork. Of course, the movie Fellowship of the Ring will be of interest not only to fans of fantasy, but the rest of the audience, its own story, its entertainment, its originality, especially in the background, which are old-old, twin blockbusters of modern cinema.Source: IMDB.com, Rottentomatoes.com
